Prizes
The calculation will be based on an 80/20 split, 80% of all ticket sales continuing to escalate in prize monies, whilst 20% would be retained and put towards the base value of R5 000.
All prize monies will be divided equally if there is more than one winner.
R500 in non-negotiable chips will be paid out as the consolation prize.
Wonderful Wednesdays
Dates & Times
Every Wednesday from 4 August to 27 October 2010 between 12h00 and 14h00 and again between 19h00 and 22h00
Prizes
Wednesday will be packaged with various offers for different tiers. Offers will be as follows:
1.Double Points
Double Points can be earned by playing with your MVG card every Wednesday.
2. Pot of Points
5 predetermined prizes of 500 points each will be won during each session (12h00 to 14h00 and 19h00 to 22h00), where the winners will receive a “pot of points” loaded onto their MVG cards.
“Pot of Points” refers to a total of 500 points being loaded onto the MVG card.
There will be a total of 65 000 points loaded onto MVG cards.
If a guest inserts their MVG card into any slot machine on the Main Casino Floor between 12h00 and 14h00 & 19h00 and 22h00, they will be eligible to win a predetermined prize of 500 points per winner.
The Mystery Jackpot engine will be used as a random selector only and does not assign any value to the winner. It will be used 5 times during each session.
3. Tollgate Payback
Every Wednesday all Silver cardholders and Maroon Cardholders who enter at The Carousel N1 north tollgate will be able to claim their tollgate fees back at the MVG Desk.
Guests must hand in their tollgate slip and MVG card at the MVG desk, and the non-redeemable gaming credits loaded onto their card, or they can get non-redeemable casino chips. Maroon will get R30 and Silver will get R25 (as they pay a discounted price)
4. Tournament Treats
Will be running on Slots Tournaments between 12h00 and 14h00.
Weekly prizes:
1st place – R1 000 cash
2nd place – 2 night midweek break for two on a B&B basis
3rd place – R150 meal voucher
All participants must have a valid MVG card, and as long as they have this, they may participate in one heat per Wednesday.
Registration will take place between 11h30 and 14h00, and tournaments will take place between 12h00 and 14h00.
Black Jack Bonanza at the Carousel
Overview
Black Jack Bonanza is a tables competition that will run twice monthly for the months of August, September and October 2010. Competition dates are as follows.
The competition will have a maximum of 21 entrants per competition. Entrance fee for the competition will be R1,000. The Carousel Tables department will match the entry fees in the form of non-negotiable Tables chips. Thus giving a prize pool of R42,000 per competition.
Each competitor will start with R 6,000 in competition chips. The competition will last for 7 hands of Black Jack. The objective will be to end with more chips than fellow competitors. Prize money will be issued to the top 3 competitors.

Mechanics
This competition will have a heat and a final.
The competition will be started with play on 3 tables, starting with 7 players on each table.
The top 2 players on each of the three tables will advance to the final.
Players will draw for their seating position in the heat and the final.
Each player will start with R 6,000 in competition chips.
The competition will consist of 7 hands of Black Jack. This applies to both the heat and the final.
For the purpose of this competition the table limits will be R200 minimum and R5000 maximum. All bets must be placed in multiples of R100.
Players may only play on their designated box and may not play any side bets such as Perfect Pairs or Sevens.
The player finishing first will receive all the players entrance money in cash. The player in second position will receive 70% of non-negotiable pool. The player in third place will receive 30% of the non-negotiable pool. For example, in a full tournament, 1st place will collect R21,000 in cash. 2nd place will collect R14,700 in non-negotiable chips and 3rd place will receive R6,300 in non-negotiable chips. These numbers would be adjusted accordingly in the case of less than 21 players competing.
Prizes:
Up to R42,000 per tournament (half cash and half non-negotiable chips)

Non-value table’s chips cannot be exchanged for cash
All chips must remain on the table, in view for the duration of the competition
Sunday Tournaments
Slots Tournaments will take place every Sunday from 1 August to 31 October 2010.
Dates & Times:
Registration starts at 11h30 until 14h00, and tournaments will take place between 12h00 and 14h00.
Tournament Dates: - 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 August, 5, 12, 19, 26 September, 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 October 2010.
Weekly heat prizes:
1st place – R500 non redeemable gaming credits
2nd place – R300 non redeemable gaming credits
3rd place – R150 non redeemable gaming credits
Tournament Mechanics:
Guests must be registered on the MVG Programme.
All Platinum, Gold and Silver MVG cardholders who visit The Carousel on the Sunday of the tournament will be allowed to participate, as well as MVG’s who stay in the Hotel on the Saturday evening before or on the Sunday evening itself.
Platinum, Gold and Silver MVG cardholders simply produce their MVG card & ID at the Promotions Desk to register to participate and Hotel residents must produce their residents’ card along with their MVG card to register to take part in a tournament.
Roulette Rumble
Overview
Roulette Rumble is a tables competition that will run twice monthly for the months of August, September and October 2010. Competition dates are as follows.
The competition will have a maximum of 14 entrants per competition. Entrance fee for the competition will be R1,000. The Carousel Tables department will match the entry fees in the form of non-negotiable Tables chips. Thus giving a maximum prize pool of R28,000 per competition.
Each competitor will start with R 2,000 in competition chips. The competition will last for 7 spins. The objective will be to end with more chips than fellow competitors. Prize money will be issued to the top 3 competitors.

Mechanics
The competition will be played on 2 tables, starting with 7 players on each table.
Players will draw for their seating position. There is no advantage in seating positions.
Each player will start with R 2,000 in competition chips.
The competition will consist of 7 spins.
For the purpose of this competition the table limits will those of a R10 minimum Roulette table.
The player finishing first will receive all the players entrance money in cash. The player in second position will receive 70% of non-negotiable pool. The player in third place will receive 30% of the non-negotiable pool. For example, in a full tournament, 1st place will collect R14,000 in cash. 2nd place will collect R9,800 in non-negotiable chips and 3rd place will receive R4,200 in non-negotiable chips. These numbers would be adjusted accordingly in the case of less than 14 players competing.
In the event of a tie, the money will be split accordingly. Using the example above. If the top 2 players were to finish in a dead heat, 1st place and 2nd prize money would be split equally. In this case each player would receive R7,000 in cash and R4,900 in non-negotiable chips.
Prizes:
Up to R28,000 per tournament (half cash and half non-negotiable chips) depending on number of entrants.

The Fickle Finger of Fate
Overview
The Mysterious Hand of Fate is a tables mystery based competition. This competition will run each weekend (each Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for the months of August, September and October 2010. There will be 2 winners each Friday, between 21:00 – 24:00.
The competition will have 2 contestants per competition time slot. There is no entry fee for this competition. Entrants will be chosen at random via the Tables Random Selector. In order to qualify customers must simply ensure their MVG card has been registered at the table they are playing on.
All prizes will be issued in the form of Tables non-negotiable chips and will be sponsored by the Tables department.
Dates & Times
On Saturdays there will be 2 time slots. The Saturday afternoon sessions will be held between 15:00 & 17:00. There will be 2 winners per Saturday afternoon session.
The Saturday evening sessions will be held between 21:00 & 24:00. There will be 3 winners per Saturday evening session.
The Sunday afternoon sessions will be held between 15:00 & 17:00. There will be 2 winners per Sunday afternoon session.
This will give us a total of 119 Fickle Finger of Fate winners for the time periods stated.
Mechanics
Competitors will be chosen via the Tables Random Selector.
For the purpose of this competition a “stripped deck” will be used. All cards except ten to ace of each of the four suits will be removed. This will leave 20 cards.
For the purpose of this competition, for security reasons, cards other than those normally used on the gaming tables will be used for this competition.
The chosen customer will choose 5 cards from the 20 cards available. (all 20 cards will be presented face down for the customer to choose from)
From his/her chosen 5 cards the customer will make his best poker hand possible
Prizes:
A hand consisting of a royal flush (10 – ace in the same suit) or a hand containing 4 of a kind (4 X 10’s, or 4 X jacks or 4 X queens or 4 X kings or 4 X aces) will receive a prize of R2,000 in non-negotiable chips.
A hand containing a straight (10 – ace in mixed suits) or a full house (3 of a kind and 2 of a kind contained in the 5 cards( IE 3 X queens plus 2 X tens)) will receive a prize of R 1,000 in non-negotiable chips.
Any other hand except those mentioned in the 2 points above will receive a prize of R500 in non-negotiable chips.
