Canada to regulate online poker PDF Print E-mail
Quebec was the first of the Canadian state to have regulated online poker, now the rest of the Canadian provinces are looking to follow suit in a bid to gather those potential millions that the poker industry can bring in. It seemed like Dalton Mc Guinty could not digest the fact that Quebec could stand to enjoy a huge monetary benefit of $50 million, and he wanted some of it to come into his province. During this week he mentioned that they too would be looking at creating a few changes to its existing gambling and poker laws.

Canadian study shows poker reduces stress PDF Print E-mail
A Canadian University has recently released a study indicating that poker may reduce stress. This may come as a surprise to many people since poker, as many top professionals will tell you, is a rather stressful game. Cortisol is commonly called “the stress hormone.” Canadian scientists monitored the cortisol levels of online poker players as they played poker. They discovered that the human body produced less cortisol as the player became increasingly engaged in the game. In fact, the cortisol levels were found to drop by up to 17% from the start of the game to the end.

Party Poker signs two new pros PDF Print E-mail
Party Poker announced Thursday that it has signed two new pros to its team: Dragan Galic and Francesco Totti. Galic becomes the newest member of Team Party, joining recent additions Antanas “Tony G” Guoga and Kara Scott, along with 2009 Poker Hall of Fame inductee Mike Sexton, Ian Frazer, Felipe “Mojave” Ramos, Bodo Sbrzesny and Remy Biechel. He played in the Team Party heat at the PartyPoker.com Premier League IV earlier this month in Las Vegas, though he did not win the $100,000 seat that was up for grabs (Frazer won it).
