Dominique Mann, who is competing for the coveted title of Miss Earth
South Africa in association with Consol at Emperors Palace Centre Court
on 11th September 2010, is no stranger to the South African public.
Not only is this 25 year old beauty the captain of the South African
Gymnastic Team, but she has won several sports awards, amongst
others being the KZN Sports Women of The Year Award in 2007, she
won this prestigious accolade alongside Springbok legend Percy
Montgomery who won KZN Sportsman of The Year that same year.
The Miss Earth South Africa is a programme that aims to empower
young South African women with the knowledge and platform to
create a sustainable difference in our plight to combat the
destruction of our natural heritage.
The event helps create awareness of our environment, wildlife and the
conservation of our natural legacy in South Africa, and ultimately
the preservation of Mother Earth.
Our goal is to create sustainability through our environmental work. Now more than ever before we as South Africans are experiencing issues of global warming, climate change and sustainability. Energy has also become a crucial denominator.
Our aim is to promote peace, respect and humility towards one another. By so doing we free ourselves to take on the responsibilities we face as human beings.
