As always, it’s great to have our latest issue of BLUFF SA out on the shelves. Once again we bring you an issue jam packed with the best poker content from both local and international sources. The highlight on the international calendar, the November Nine has come and gone and a new WSOP main event champion has been crowned - 21 year old Joe Cada. It was an awesome main event and a very entertaining final table. In this issue, we have a host of WSOP material to pick apart the highlights of this incredible tournament.

On the local front we have wrap ups and results of all the local tourneys, a profile on SA’s hottest lady poker player, Melanie Banfield and the latest BLUFF SA poker rankings brought to you by Emperors Palace. We have exciting new content from our local contributors poker legend Darren Miller, BLUFF feature editor Rob Dickens and our new lady writer, Michelle Bezuidenhout returns as “Lucky Clover”, who managed to finish 26th at the Emerald Series.

If you are not sure if poker is gambling or a sport, look out for my contribution on the subject. It’s a contentious subject around the world and is being argued in some of the highest courts. Usually the argument is used to avoid being prosecuted for gambling in home games. Many countries list gambling as betting on a game of chance, whereas the chance element in poker is diminished by the human and strategy factor, unlike a game of roulette for example.

Go to www.bluffmagazine.co.za/forum and give us your point of view. As this magazine goes to print, I am playing golf in South America. I was selected to play to play for South A frica in the Tailhade Cup and the Argentinean Amateur. JG Classen and I teamed up to win the international team competition, a 72- hole  stroke play tournament, by three shots from hosts Argentina! Then in December I go to Pearl valley in Cape Town to play in the South African Open. Wish me luck. Don’t worry, in my brief absence our awesome BLUFF team will be working round the clock to bring you an amazing Feb 2010 issue.

Thanks to all of you avid BLUFF readers, 2009 has been a great year and we hope to continue building BLUFF SA into the best poker publication on the market. From all of us here at BLUFF SA, we would like to wish you a fantastic festive season and a new year filled with full houses, flushes and straights.

See you on the flop-side in 2010!
